Tom Ford on Creativity and Drive

This is Tom Ford. He was creative director at Gucci for a while. He resurrected the company when it was going bankrupt. He also went on to direct an Oscar nominated film and created his own fashion label. The guy is successful and creative. But why?


What I learned from this documentary is that having balls and having intense drive and goals are powerful. That's what success is made out of- even more so than talent. Also, having balls. Tom is a guy who is never afraid to do drastic, unconventional things to follow whatever path he's set for himself. Watch him talk and work. He has these crazy intuitive dreams that he pulls people into, and they believe in it just as much as he does.

At some point, Ford says that there are probably many more creative fashion designers out there than him, but that he probably works harder than any of them.
